Christina Hyon-Wynn, Psy.D.

Christina Hyon-Wynn, Psy.D.Christina Hyon-Wynn, Psy.D. is a Licensed Clinical Psychologist who specializes in working with children, adolescents, and families to help them develop effective coping strategies, improve interpersonal and/or familial relationships, and adopt more positive behavioral patterns. She has helped families work through a variety of challenges, including anxiety, depression, academic challenges, peer difficulties and negative family interactions. She has also provided psychoeducation and supportive therapy to parents in developing effective tools to better manage behavioral challenges in their children. Dr. Hyon-Wynn also conducts developmental (e.g., Autism, PDD), educational (e.g., ADHD, Learning Disorders), and psychological (e.g., mood and behavioral disorders) evaluations for diagnostic and academic purposes.

As a subspecialty, Dr. Hyon-Wynn has extensive experience working with children with chronic illnesses and developmental disorders. Common issues that arise include difficulties adjusting to diagnosis, anxiety, pain management, sleep problems, and depression. She practices an interdisciplinary approach, as she collaborates with other providers (e.g., pediatricians, physical therapists, teachers, etc.) to ensure that all areas of the child’s needs are met.

Dr. Hyon-Wynn received a Doctoral Degree in Clinical Psychology from the American School of Profession Psychology, as well as a Master’s Degree in Clinical Psychology from Boston University. Prior to completing an internship at the Children’s Hospital of Michigan and a post-doctoral residency at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, she received practicum experience from Children’s National Medical Center and Kennedy Krieger Institute.
